At this stage, I figured I knew why Office 365 was unable to connect over my OpenVPN connection. A few things were suggested, such as disabling IPv6 on the TAP adapter, and a few other little tricks. I found many more people with the problem, and nobody seemed to have the right answer. I did a lot of searching over the last few years to try and find a fix for this.
